Japanese people are weird [internet TV]

My friend Monica sent me this video the other day. It’s an extremely weird Japanese cartoon she encountered on a recent trip to that country:

I’m confused and a bit scared… yet I cannot look away…

Dr Horrible never ends [internet TV]

If you’re still on a high after last week’s internet-only Dr Horrible premiere, here’s a neat article about the history of the project as told by Joss Whedon and other key cast-/crewmembers. Joss hints at not only a sequel, but also a Broadway-style musical and a feature-length film. The bespectacled fanboy inside of me cries, “Yes!”

So as we all know, Dr Horrible has proven to be funny, and sweet, and hilarious, so it’s not that surprising that there are already people (well… person) applying to be his evil sidekick:

Lens flare!”

Dr Horrible is anything but [internet TV]

The first part of Dr Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog has gone up, and it’s sweet and cute and funny… and I’m not even a Joss Whedon diehard! I think Neil Patrick Harris has just leapt about 50 places up on my list of Celebrities I Want to be Friends With.

Dr Horrible is very comical [hee!]

Because the theme of today seems to be Joss Whedon-related comics, I present this comic-book prequel-of-sorts to Dr Horrible which focuses on buffoonish superhero Captain Hammer. Pro: it’s quite amusing! Con: it is hosted on MySpace, but I guess you’ll just have to deal with that.

Dr Horrible: coming soon to a computer screen near you [internet TV]

Joss Whedon has announced that Dr Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog will kick off on July 15, with parts two and three premiering on the 17th and 19th. (I assume it’s is a worldwide thing and won’t be geoblocked outside North America, which would make me very sad.)

I’m kind of really excited about this whole thing, especially since TV Guide‘s Matt Roush gave it a glowing (and mildly spoilery) review. Innovative internet TV is so fetch!

Joss Whedon’s weird new… thing [hee!]

There’s a new teaser trailer up for Joss Whedon’s upcoming internet TV show thing (or whatever), Dr Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog. Check it out here; in true Joss style it’s delightfully strange.

If you’re unfamiliar with Dr Horrible, it stars Neil Patrick Harris as the titular supervillain, whose love for a woman (Felicia Day) is thwarted by a doofus superhero (Nathan Fillion, of Firefly fame). Yeah, and it’s a musical. I said it was strange.
