There’s this awards ceremony called the Emmys. You may have heard of it [awards]

So the 2008 Emmy nominations were announced this morning (by Kristin Chenoweth and Neil Patrick Harris… both of whom received nods. Coincidence? I think not!), and… they’re a little predictable. Nothing shocked me, except maybe for Two and a Half Men‘s inclusion in the best comedy field. Seriously: huh? Is Chuck Lorre blackmailing the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences or something?

That aside, the nominations are pretty good this year – most of my favourites got a look-in (notable snub: Battlestar Galactica. WTF, Emmy voters. I am crying real tears for Mary McDonnell right now) (not really). And thankfully Grey’s Anatomy was barred from the best drama category this year. Sucked in, Katherine Heigl… and the rest!

All the nominees I care about are after the jump.

  1. Flotsam Snr Says:

Bit rude that Rose Byrne got snubbed. I’m not a big fan of hers but thought she was excellent in Damages – held her own against Close, Danson and Ivanek. Oh well. Hopefully one will get lucky.
