Australia ruins TiVo [Australiana]

TiVo has been rolling out great features for years in the US, but don’t expect to see any of them when the blasted contraption finally launches in Australia! Seven is rolling out the box minus several of its key features, ostensibly so as not to confuse consumers (we Aussies are sooooo stoopid) but really so they can charge more when said features are unlocked next year. Nice one!

  1. People are dumb. You can already buy PVRs in Australia and Microsoft Media Centre (or the open source version, Myth TV) already allows you to do ALL these things, for much less than $700. But people will still buy a TiVo because they know the name.
