James Callis agrees that Gaius Baltar’s new-found religious expertise is all a big load:

I don’t believe [Baltar's preaching]. I don’t believe it as James Callis, and I don’t believe that Gaius believes it either. Because he couldn’t. And I think a lot of it comes out of, “Well, you’ve set yourself up on a dais, and you’ve got a microphone, now fucking have you got something to say?” And actually, he doesn’t have something to say. He’s constantly treading water with the most woolly – I mean, it’s terribly woolly.
