Battlestar spin-off just as depressing as mother series [Battlestar Galactica]

Caprica creators Ron Moore and David Eick have already said the spin-off will be sudsier than than Battlestar Galactica, but Sci Fi Channel bigwig Mark Stern promises it’ll nevertheless preserve the franchise’s tradmark weightiness. (So… Caprica will be like one of those bars of soap with the gritty beads that exfoliate your skin?) (I dunno, this metaphor is slipping away from me.)

I’m all in favour of a series that blends Battlestar’s background science with the moody thoughtfulness of, say, Six Feet Under. I mean, there needs to be something on TV that can leave me listless and depressed after Battlestar wraps up.
